It was so wonderful to be back performing at Lincoln Center! I had a ball singing the Soprano Soloist in Carmina Burana. Carl Orff really outdoes himself with that piece! Thank you to all of my family and friends who attended the performance!
I’m so thrilled to be performing with The San Francisco Symphony this week! What better way to celebrate the holiday spirit than to sing a Christmas Concert with this amazing orchestra!!
“In soprano Sarah Jane McMahon the company has found an actress with a brilliant, even, and infinitely flexible voice and a singer who knows how to fully inhabit a part. Her Violetta was equal parts vamp and saint, all party-hearty in one scene, self-sacrificing lover in the next. Even her extended death scene was graceful and believable, musically convincing.” - Toledo Blade
It has been a year since I last sang Violetta, but the words and notes come rushing back! I can’t wait to sing this fabulous role again in a few weeks with Toledo Opera!
It is great to be back in New York at Bard SummerScape Festival after singing Donna Clara, the Infanta in Zemlinsky’s Der Zwerg in 2007. The campus here is gorgeous and the company is fantastic! Looking so forward to performing Xanthe in R. Strauss’ Die Liebe der Danae next week!
I’m excited to be preparing for my upcoming concerts in New Orleans! Please Save The Date for my Sacred Concert at St. Francis Assisi on May 1st at 3 P.M., HMS Pinafore with The Louisiana Philharmonic on May 12th and 13th, and a Baroque concert at St. Mary’s Italian Church on May 22nd. Hope to see you there!
Happy Valentine’s Day from Berlin! I’m halfway through my tour through Europe, and I’ve had a blast so far! I’ve auditioned on the stage of the beautiful Garnier Opera House in Paris and at the renown Covent Garden in London, among others. I have also enjoyed plenty of site-seeing along the way. Many thanks to everyone who has helped make this trip possible - I can’t believe I’ll be coming home in just two weeks after singing with the Munich Philharmonic!
I’m excited to leave this weekend on my European tour! In addition to a series of auditions across the continent, I’m looking forward to performing with The Munich Philharmonic later next month! First stop … Paris! Au Revoir!
Thank you so much for visiting my new website! I’m so grateful to web designer, Bill Reinhardt for his exquisite work, Michael Palumbo for many of the beautiful pictures, and to my Uncle Greg and cousin Mark Wilde for their assistance with my website throughout my career. I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think, and don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and Facebook!
Sarah Jane wrapped up her performance of Pamina in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” (“Die Zauberflöte”) at her hometown New Orleans Opera. Sarah Jane is grateful to the outstanding cast and crew and to the many supporters who enjoyed this terrific production.
